The Homestead

Learn more about our eco-friendly hill country retreat

The Wildflower homestead is a place for reconnecting with nature and some good old fashioned fun! We love providing a space for famlies, kids, couples, individuals and groups to visit with the animals, explore on the nature trail and gaze at the stars.

We follow three major principles: caring for our space, caring for our guests, and sharing abundance. We aim to combine sustainable agriculture, landscape design, and ecology to work with nature rather than against it in designing gardens and grounds that thrive with minimal intervention. We emphasize native and drought tolerant plants and trees, practice rain water & solar energy harvesting, recycling, composting, animal husbandry, and the common-sense idea of eating what grows well locally and celebrating what is in season.

In addition to our gardens and the grounds around the Inn, we also manage the surrounding 20 acres of forest and meadows for wildlife. We are working to conserve and restore habitat for native plant and animal species and to maintain ecological processes, functions, diversity, and productivity of this land over time. Guests are invited to enjoy the nature trail that meanders through this very special piece of the Texas Hill Country.

Our talented team of Wildflower's make most of our own natural cleaning products for the Inn, and grow vegetables, herbs and fresh cut flowers for our guests to enjoy. Additionally we create an array of handcrafted products including beautiful soaps, bath teas, scrubs, lotion bars and tea blends.  You can purchase a self care basket here featuring some of our goodies!
